CMHR Jumps On the Throwback Thursdays Bandwagon
There’s a trend on social media that’s gained in popularity over the last year: “Throwback Thursdays”. In case you’re not familiar with it, quite simply, on Thursdays people post photos from their past on social media like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook. The trend is quickly catching on in other social media networks and some also include videos from the past.
We’ve decided to join in.
Over the last few years, we’ve been documenting with photos the Museum’s evolution from the time of its conception to today:Construction of the Museum begins. (Spring, 2009) Construction is ongoing inside the Museum. (Summer, 2013)
We also have many photos of people and events:The CMHR held an event at The Forks to commemorate an amazing find during the archaeological dig on the future site of the CMHR: an 800-year-old footprint. (June, 2009) Museum employees wear pink in support of the anti-bullying Pink Shirt Day (February, 2013) The Tenors perform live inside the Museum. (October, 2012)
We’d also love to hear from you!
Were you there when the Queen visited the site back in2010? Did you take your cousin Pierre on a perimeter tour when he was visiting from France last year? Or maybe you attended an event, like “Amazing Feet,” hosted by the Museum in 2009? Post your photo on Twitter, Instagram or Flickr and tag them with #CMHRtbt and they might end up on our Facebook page! Don’t forget to give a brief description including when the photo was taken.
