Celebrate the 15th anniversary of Asian Heritage Month at the Museum!

Join us for an afternoon of discussion, film and cultural performances. All events are free – no admission required.

Panel Discussion
12 p.m. to 1 p.m. – English
Location: Manitoba Teachers’ Society Classrooms

Members of Winnipeg’s Asian community will talk about the intersection between human rights and their own lives. Arthur Miki, Pamela Rebello, Jennifer Chen and Nour Ali will share their diverse perspectives in a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Muni Mysore. 

Film Screening
1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Location: Manitoba Teachers’ Society Classrooms

Attend a special screening of Facing Injustice: The Relocation of Japanese Canadians to Manitoba. Filmmaker Aaron Floresco will introduce the film and lead a discussion after the screening. 

Asian Fusion Showcase
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Bonnie & John Buhler Hall on Level 1

Experience vibrant performances by local cultural groups in celebration of Asian heritage. Featured performers include:

  • India School of Dance
  • Winnipeg Sikaran Arnis Academy
  • Yeyoung Won
  • Colours of Indonesia
  • Hinode Taiko
