Event details

For over 20 years, Francesco Lotoro has brought to life an entire history of forgotten music.

Cost:
Free. Seating is first come, first served.
Location:
Manitoba Teachers' Society Classrooms, Canadian Museum for Human Rights, 85 Israel Asper Way

A professional pianist from Barletta, Italy, Lotoro has scoured Europe to discover and record music composed secretly in camps during the Second World War. Aided by his wife and a handful of friends, he has archived over 4,000 scores.

Through this remarkable collection of music, we feel the emotion and connect to the story of a race against oblivion, with each note a challenge to oppression.

The Museum is proudly partnered with the Azrieli Foundation, the Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada and the Freeman Family Holocaust Education Centre in commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
