Join us for a special screening of the National Film Board of Canada’s documentary, Ninth Floor in honour of the 35th anniversary of the Congress of Black Women of Manitoba.

Several decades after the infamous Sir George Williams Riot of 1969, the 2015 film reopens the file on a watershed moment in Canadian race relations and one of the most contested episodes in the nation’s history.

The evening will open with special remarks from the Museum and the Congress of Black Women of Manitoba. Following the screening there will be an audience Q&A with Ninth Floor Producer Selwyn Jacob.

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Location: Bonnie & John Buhler Hall

This event is free to the public. The film has a running time of 82 minutes.
