Reconciliation Through “Happy Paintings”

Talk with artist Gibril Bangura

Join us for a special discussion with Gibril Bangura, a painter from Sierra Leone who came to Canada in 2014 as a political refugee. 

Bangura’s first exhibition was at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris at age 19. He has since exhibited in embassies in Sierra Leone and Guinea, and more recently at The Edge Gallery, Frame Arts Warehouse and IRCOM in Winnipeg. He has been a full-time artist for the last 26 years.

He will talk about art and reconciliation.
