Bring your family and join us in special activities taking place during spring break!

Spring break programming starts Saturday, March 24 and ends Sunday, April 1, 2018. This year, our spring break activities explore language rights in Canada, as well as French language, culture and identity across the country.

Explore Métis Beadwork

The Museum is home to the largest known fire bag in the world. This artwork was sewn by local artist Jennine Krauchi and her mother. It features beautiful floral patterns traditional to Métis culture made from thousands of glass beads sourced from Canada’s fur trade era. Discover the history and meaning of these patterns and then color in your own floral pattern to take home!

Expression Wall

English and French languages have both shaped Canada and contributed to the multicultural country we live in today. Discover some key moments from the history of both languages in Canada. Decorate your own wooden block in celebration of bilingualism and add it to a wall of blocks left behind by others who have shared their thoughts. This activity is best suited for children aged 8–12.

Tours

Don’t forget to take one of our interactive guided tours! The 45‐minute Family Express Tour will be offered Sunday, March 25 and Sunday, April 1 at 11 a.m. in French and 11:30 a.m. in English.

All activities and special events, as well as the Family Express Tour, are included in the cost of admission.
