The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, announced today the appointment of Dr. Lindy Ledohowski to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights Board of Trustees. 

"I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lindy Ledohowski," said Minister Moore. "Dr. Ledohowski is a Canadian writer with an impressive academic career. Her professional background will be a valuable asset to the work of the Board."

Dr. Ledohowski is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at St. Jerome's University in the University of Waterloo, as well as a communications consultant. 

Dr. Ledohowski holds a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Manitoba. She also has a B.Ed. in Secondary English and History from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. 

Lindy Ledohowski is an active member of Canadian professional associations, such as the Association for Canadian and Québec Literatures (ACQL), the Association of Canadian College and University Teachers of English (ACCUTE), and the Canadian Ethnic Studies Association.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is Canada's first federal museum devoted to the topic of human rights. Its mission is to enhance the public's understanding of human rights, promote respect for others, and encourage reflection and dialogue on various human rights issues.
