News release details

A smiling parent and two children sit at a table, with crafting supplies including markers, scissors, glue and construction paper laid out before them.

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) will celebrate the holidays with free admission for visitors 12 and under from December 27 – January 8.

Special family‐friendly activities December 27–31

As well, special family‐friendly activities will be offered December 27–31:

ArtsJunktion will lead free crafting workshops from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Stuart Clark Garden of Contemplation. All materials will be provided.

Cloud Coffee – the CMHR’s coffee shop on Level 5 – will host live music throughout the week from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., making it the perfect spot to relax and recharge. A full list of performers is below.

A series of animated short children’s films from the National Film Board will play in rotation on the Level 7 theatre. The films share themes of self‐discovery, belonging, friendship and family. See the film links below for details.

Throughout the holiday season and into the new year, the Israel Asper Tower of Hope will shine brightly in the night sky with vibrant lights to share the power of hope in dark times. Images and video for media use are available here.
