October is Queer History Month and we’re inviting grades 7 to 12 classrooms to join the Museum’s Education team for a FREE virtual tour of the Love in a Dangerous Time: Canada’s LGBT Purge exhibition.

From their classrooms, students will explore Love in a Dangerous Time , an exhibition that tells the story of the LGBT Purge when, from the 1950s to the 1990s, 2SLGBTQI+ members of the Canadian military, RCMP and federal civil service were investigated, interrogated and removed from their jobs as mandated by government policy. Together, we will discover how activism, community efforts and legal challenges worked to expand human rights protections during a key moment in Canada’s queer history.

This is a unique opportunity to engage with our blockbuster exhibition, featured at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights for a limited time!

This tour is offered in French and English. Please note the start times of each respective tour are in CDT. Tours will not be recorded for on‐demand viewing.
