The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is ready to begin another busy tourism season, starting Monday, May 22 when it opens seven days a week until after Labour Day.

The Museum will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. every day except Wednesdays, when visitors are welcome until 9 p.m. Free admission is offered on the first Wednesday of each month from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. On all other Wednesday evenings, admission is offered at the reduced rate of $5.

The Museum's Boutique and ERA Bistro will also be open seven days a week and on every Wednesday evening.

Exciting events, exhibits and programs are planned throughout the spring and summer, including:

• Free tours for Doors Open Winnipeg on May 27 and 28, allowing visitors to see little‐known aspects of the museum from behind the scenes;
• A celebration of Asian Heritage Month on May 28 with a free afternoon of discussion, film and cultural performances.
• Pride at the Museum tours on June 3 and 4, showcasing stories about the rights of people with diverse sexual orientation and gender identities;
• After the Apology: A Dialogue for Reconciliation on June 13, featuring storytelling and discussion about the legacy of Indian Residential Schools, forced relocations and intergenerational trauma;
• Free Mikinak‐Keya Spirit Tours on National Indigenous Day, June 21;
• In the lead‐up to Canada Day, the opening of the Museum's latest Canada 150 exhibition on June 23 – a showcase of national, crowd‐sourced photography on human rights themes called Points of View;
• Programs for Canada's 150^th anniversary on July 1, kicking off with performances by the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir from the Museum's outdoor amphitheatre, and galleries open until 7 p.m. with admission reduced to $5 all day;
• In‐gallery talks during Canada History Week, July 3 to 7, based on Canada 150 themes of Diversity & Inclusion, Reconciliation, Youth, Human Rights & the Environment, plus Rights in Canada.
• Expanded hours during the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, which run July 28 to August 13 (open until 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays), plus performances by Indigenous musicians on July 29;
• Family Day every Sunday, with family‐friendly programming focused on children's rights, the right to play and the right to food.
