News release details
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is taking a stand for mental health by hosting a free community art event this Sunday, October 5, as part of the Love Notes Campaign. For the second year in a row, the Love Notes Campaign will deliver positive affirmations across Winnipeg for World Mental Health Day, spreading messages of hope and healing throughout the community.
Visitors of all ages are invited to come to the Museum to create love notes celebrating strength, healing and hope. All supplies will be provided.
“Relationships, belonging and social connection matter to mental health,” said Angeliki Bogiatji, Manager, Public Programs at the CMHR. “That’s why we are excited to offer a barrier‐free place for connection, and to host a Love Notes event on the first Sunday of October – a day when admission to the Museum is free for everyone.”
The notes will be shared throughout Winnipeg in the days leading up to World Mental Health Day on October 10, and included in a citywide “Love‐Ingo,” (which loosely translates as “Love and Peace”). It is named after Ingo Christian Schrödter, a longtime Winnipegger and scientist who considered it his duty to fight systems of oppression, often forming personal connections with those in need.
