Free Friday nights at the Museum have been a hit, especially with young adults, since 2019. Now the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is switching to free Sundays to make it easier for families to explore the Museum regardless of their ability to pay.

This Friday, November 24, will be the last regular free Friday night from 5:00–9:00 p.m. We’re marking the day with a United Way of Winnipeg donation drive and asking visitors to drop off warm winter wear, hygiene products or non‐perishable foods between 12:30–8:30 p.m. Donations will go to the Andrews Street Family Centre and the Spence Neighbourhood Association to help ensure Winnipeg residents have what they need as we enter winter. 

After November 24, the Museum will be open regular hours, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Fridays.

Free‐admission Sundays kick off on December 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., when visitors can take advantage of Gisinaa Giziis – “Cold Month Market” – a public market organized by Indigenous Languages of Manitoba. The market will offer Indigenous art and crafts from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Bonnie & John Buhler Hall.

As always, visitors can also pick up unique, ethically produced gifts at the CMHR Boutique.
