News release details

For the first time since the start of the pandemic, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights will host lively performances, animated films, a macaroni bar and more to welcome families next week during spring break.

From Wednesday to Friday, performers will be live from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on the ground floor main stage. Visitors can enjoy music from Don Amero as well as Jessee Havey and the Banana Band, dancers from Ça Claque, the Summer Bear Dance Troupe and Hinode Taiko, magician Patrick Gregoire, acrobats from Momentum Dance and much more. These shows will be hosted by well‐known children’s entertainer TiBert le Voyageur.

On Saturday, ArtsJunktion will host a crafting workshop in the Stuart Clark Garden of Contemplation and there will be live music in Cloud Coffee.

Visitors can also grab a bite to eat at a macaroni bar, with all the kid‐friendly fixings for a healthy and tasty lunch. Sweet and savoury crêpes and other options are also available. These special food offers are available in the Bistro, Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Museum will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Throughout the week, admission will be free for visitors 12 and under. Children can explore the Museum’s galleries anytime using a special activity booklet and enjoy animated films about human rights by the National Film Board in the Museum’s Level 7 theatre.

A full schedule of events is available on the Museum’s website. Tickets are available at the Museum’s box office but space is limited, so those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve their free tickets in advance online. Please note that masks continue to be required for all visitors five and up.
