News release details
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is expanding its Holocaust education programs with a special offering from January 20 to 31 – part of the CMHR’s ongoing commitment to combat rising antisemitism and mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day later this month.
Through a combination of innovative technology and meaningful storytelling, two new and powerfully designed experiences will be offered daily to honour the victims of the Holocaust, educate the broader community and promote awareness of the ongoing importance of Holocaust remembrance and the pursuit of human rights.
“Our current understanding of human rights and the imperative to respect the dignity of all human beings is rooted in reflecting on the horrors of the Holocaust. We hope that our programming around International Holocaust Remembrance Day (Jan. 27) opens up much‐needed dialogue about antisemitism and its rise in Canada today and throughout the world,” said Isha Khan, CEO of the CMHR. “We must take every opportunity to address hate in all its forms, and there is no question that we have a collective responsibility to put an end to antisemitism.”
