Young Manitobans are sharing their visions for the future of human rights in a vibrant exhibition called ARTiculate Our Rights, which opens inside the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) on July 30. Media are invited to a preview tomorrow.
More than 100 teenagers from across the province submitted artwork as part of a CMHR project initially intended to mark the 150th anniversary in 2020 of Manitoba joining Confederation. The art is now being showcased in a visually impressive display of projection, colour and light in the Museum’s Level 6 Expressions gallery.

Media access through Group Entrance.
The thought‐provoking art (125 pieces in total) covers a range of issues that impact us all. Diverse topics range from equality and gender rights to disability and mental health issues, activism, privacy and voting rights. The exhibition runs until June 30, 2022.
Last summer, 26 of the pieces were jury selected for display as large, outdoor photographs situated throughout The Forks. These will also be among the artworks showcased in the new, indoor exhibition. A few examples can be found online.
