The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) will mark International Women’s Day tomorrow with a free afternoon screening of Still Working 9–5.
Part retrospective on the cult classic 1980 film 9 to 5 starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, part documentary on why workplace inequality continues to exist, the film continues to earn accolades at film festivals throughout North America. It includes contemporary interviews with Parton, Fonda and Tomlin about the making of the original film, while examining gender inequality and discrimination in the workplace over the past 40 years.
Prior to the film, CMHR VP of External Relations and Community Engagement will share brief remarks. All are welcome to attend, no tickets are required. Media are invited to attend.
