Boutique Hours
The Boutique is open during Museum hours, Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Curbside pickup is available when you order from the Boutique online (orders can be picked up during regular hours of operation).

The Carte International Reference Centre is open to visitors by appointment only.

General admission tickets provide unlimited, same-day access to our galleries.
Tickets are available on site at the ticketing desk. Or skip the line and buy them online.

Complimentary Admission for Individuals
The Museum offers free general admission:
- To people accompanying a person with a disability
- To Indigenous people, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Please self‐declare; identification is not required. Does not apply to special programs, tours or memberships.
These tickets are available by calling us at 204–289-2000 or by visiting us at the main ticketing desk.
Complimentary Admission for Community Organizations
The Museum offers community organizations free admission for small groups (approximately 30 individuals).
If your organization is interested, please review the eligibility criteria and write to us with your request.
Canoo
We're a proud partner of Canoo (formerly the Cultural Access Pass), a mobile app that helps new Canadian citizens celebrate their citizenship by providing free admission to over 1,400 museums, science centres, art galleries, parks and historic sites.

Find Your Way
Getting to Winnipeg
If you are driving from the U.S., Winnipeg is one hour north of the U.S. border crossing at Pembina, North Dakota. Within Canada, Winnipeg is reached by the No. 1 Trans Canada Highway, running east and west.
Winnipeg’s James Armstrong Richardson International Airport is about 9 km away from the Museum, with daily national and international flights. The Museum is about 20 minutes away from the airport by car.
VIA Rail, Canada’s rail passenger service, travels across Canada and stops in Winnipeg. Union Station is a short distance away from the Museum.
Public Transit
Winnipeg Transit has 33 routes that service The Forks and the Museum. Use Winnipeg Transit’s online trip planner, Navigo, to plan your trip.
Parking
Public parking is available through FNP Parking in metered lots around the Museum.

General Policies
We strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment for everyone. Read our helpful information about strollers, complimentary coat check, bag policies and more.
Please do…
- Use electric scooters for mobility purposes.
- Bring your service animals. Other pets are not allowed.
- Check all backpacks, shopping bags, packages and umbrellas. Check any other items larger than 25 cm x 30 cm x 25 cm. It’s compulsory.
- Ask for wheelchairs, strollers and cane seats, which are available at the Coat Check for visitor on‐site use. Photo ID or a credit card is needed for deposit.
- Come to the Museum wearing shoes. Footwear is required for your safety.
Please don't…
- Smoke anywhere in the Museum.
- Bring any of your valuable items. The Museum is not responsible for the loss or damage of any items left at Coat Check.
- Carry any bag or item on your back due to visitor and exhibit safety. If bags can’t be carried reasonably and safely in another manner they must be checked.

- Take photos in the galleries and share them on social media (for non‐commercial use).
- Keep your cell phone with you and use our mobile app (but please set the ringer to vibrate and be respectful of other visitors when using it).
- Contact our Communications team for questions regarding any media and special photography, including film and video projects, at 204–299-0303.
Please don’t…
- Lean over railings when taking photos, for your safety and security.
- Use a flash at any time.
- Use your phone for conversations in the galleries.
- Bring bulky photography equipment.
- Publish, sell, reproduce, transfer, distribute or use photos taken at the Museum for any commercial purposes.
