On this day, people around the world are marking 100 years since the birth of Nelson Mandela. Mandela was born on July 18, 1918.

To honour the legacy of the late President of South Africa, we are offering free admission to all galleries, including Mandela: Struggle for Freedom from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Everyone is welcome, including the little ones! We’ll have interpreters on hand to answer your questions and guide you through in‐gallery activities.

In 2009, the United Nations declared July 18 “Nelson Mandela International Day” in recognition of his contribution to freedom, justice and democracy. 

The United Nations asks people everywhere to mark “Nelson Mandela International Day” by making a difference in their communities.
