Cecil Foster is an award‐winning writer, academic and journalist.

His historical work sheds light on the unrevealed stories of black railway porters – the so‐called “Pullmen” working in the Canadian rail lines in the mid‐twentieth century. Through his interviews with the last living porters from the era, Foster documents their political activism and fight for social justice that helped lay the groundwork for the multicultural Canada we know today. 

The event will wrap up with a book signing and a meet‐and‐greet with the author.
